Pedestrian Passes Away After Being Struck By Vehicle on Junction Hwy

A Kerr County woman passed away Saturday night after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing Junction Highway.

Jeanne Avalos, 46, was crossing the highway in the 1200 block at about 9:28 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, when she was struck by a vehicle traveling east, according to the Kerrville Police Department. Officers responded to the scene.

Passers-by stopped to help her. An ambulance took Avalos to Peterson Regional Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. The department said the driver was not impaired and that no charges are anticipated.

Avalos' family has been notified. The Kerrville Police Department extended its condolences to her family and loved ones.

The crash remains under investigation.
