KERRVILLE, Texas — An 18-year-old Kerrville woman was shot and wounded Friday night in a drive-by shooting on West Schreiner Street, according to the Kerrville Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 300 block of West Schreiner Street at about 9:42 p.m. Friday, August 14. Police say several rounds were fired, striking the woman as she sat in a parked car in front of the residence.

She was flown by air ambulance to a San Antonio hospital and is listed in stable condition.

According to an initial investigation, a vehicle drove past the residence and a suspect inside fired multiple rounds toward the house and people in the yard. At least one round entered the occupied home. No one else was injured.

Detectives are continuing to gather facts, and police say no additional information will be released at this time. The department stated there does not appear to be a threat to the general public.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Colton Willoughby at 830-258-1315.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
