Two Found Deceased in Lois Street Home; Kerrville Police Investigating Possible Murder-Suicide

KERRVILLE — A welfare check on a man who hadn't been seen in days ended Wednesday morning with Kerrville police finding two people dead inside a home in the 600 block of Lois Street, and investigators now say they are looking at a possible murder-suicide.
Officers were sent to the residence around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, after someone called to ask that police check on an adult male who had not been seen for several days, according to the Kerrville Police Department. Officers ultimately made entry and found a man and a woman inside, both with apparent gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police identified the woman as 62-year-old Shannon Ratliff. The man, 64-year-old Wayne Ratliff, died from what investigators suspect was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the department said.
The department extended its condolences to Shannon Ratliff's family and friends.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Ryan Casey at 830-258-1314.
